Extensive Spring Cleaning of the Interior

When it comes to spring cleaning, a thorough deep clean of the interior is VITAL, friends. Yes, you need to be scrubbing baseboards, washing those pillows and throw blankets, and deep cleaning the bathroom. These steps really make sure that every nook and cranny (and forgotten part) of your home is sparkling clean.

One of my pro tips is to wash pillows and throw blankets at a laundromat, which saves time and allows for a more thorough cleaning. One pillow per load is ideal but you can get away with two if you need to save some time.

I like to deep clean my bathroom in this step too. Inside and outside the cabinets and drawers and under the vanity is somewhere we don’t often check but it does need to be cleaned. I use clear organizers in my drawers and it helps stay so organized. I like to run my hair brushes and combs in the dishwasher to make them extra fresh.

Fresh towels are the BEST in the spring. Towels get so much use and I recommend replacing them every one to two years. You don’t need to toss your towels in the trash, you can use them in the garage or for pets. If you really just need them gone, drop them off at your local animal shelter!

Refreshing Your Home This Spring

In addition to deep cleaning, refreshing your living space is the fun part of spring cleaning. Pack away all your non-spring decor and anything causing clutter. We want to bring the spring vibe inside!

I always suggest wiping down the decor before packing it up. You don’t want lots of dust sitting on your things for a year. By storing these items neatly in a storage room, you can free up space and create a more open and airy atmosphere suitable for warmer weather.

Let’s make your cabinets smell fresh!! I recommend placing cotton balls infused with peppermint or lavender in the back of the cabinets. Not only does this create a pleasant aroma, but it can also help deter pests such as mice. This makes your home feel like a spa every time you open your cabinets. We are all about romanticizing your home, y’all.

Sprucing Up the Outdoors

While the interior of your home may be spotless, it's important not to neglect the exterior. Remember, this is your first impression of your home and what you walk up to every time you come home. Rake the lawn to prep for new grass growth (reseed if you can!), wash your windows and windowsills (my least favorite), and hose down or pressure wash your patio and walkways. This greatly increases the curb appeal of your home to both guests and let’s be real, yourself

Spring cleaning is not just about tidying up where you live, but it also just freshens up your life. I love spring and the sense of renewal it brings.

Spring cleaning is a comprehensive process that involves extensive cleaning of the interior, refreshing your living space, and sprucing up the exterior. I hope these tips are helpful and useful!

So, grab your cleaning supplies, put on some upbeat music, and let the spring cleaning begin!
