Turning your home into a luxury space doesn't have to break the bank or involve major renovations. By focusing on a few key enhancements, even the most simple homes can radiate elegance and style. I want to share my tips and tricks for the top 5 ways to spruce up your home without wrecking your budget or having you left in renovation nightmare shambles. I want to keep this post simple and give you tangible things to takeaway and use in your own home.
5 Key Ways To Elevate Your Home Style:
Lighting
Artwork
Molding and baseboards
Curtains
Hardware
Lighting
Lighting is HUGE! You want to have soft light on your end tables and nightstands and bright, LED lighting on your dining room, and kitchen. Having a chandelier option is great so that you can have just that on during dinner is great. Mirrors are also great and I love to put them in the entryway, master, and dining room. It makes it look bigger and draws the walls out. I am currently obsessed with putting mirrors over the nightstands in the master bedrooms. It looks bigger and more expensive.
Artwork
I used to think I would never be able to afford artwork….BUT, you can buy discounted pieces everywhere! I will link a few of my favorites here. I love grabbing 2 of the same abstract pieces and get creative by stacking them side by side or next to each other. You can put one on one wall and one on the other in the corner of a room.
Molding & Baseboards
Like the trend of putting artwork and frames throughout the whole wall rather than just the lower half, putting crown molding on the top of your walls is just beautiful. Let’s face it, all the rich people and rich hotels do it. This can even be the plastic trim and paint the entire wall. There are so many variations.
Taller baseboards are key in creating a luxurious feel. It gives a very up-leveled look.
Curtains
Friends, we want these high and wide. This will majorly impact the visuals of your home and create the illusion of taller ceilings and more space. If you have plain walls (white, grey, cream), you could even go with a bold color statement curtain. I have a favorite Amazon curtain I will link here.
You can go curtainless if you want to! It is not required!
Block out those haters however you want to, friend.
Hardware
Updating hardware and knobs is a game-changer for the look of your home. This can be simple and you can even order the hardware online. PRO TIP: Make sure you measure from the center of the hole to the center of the next hole. This is a super common issue I see and although you can send it back, it makes it easier to not have the problem to begin with!
There you have it, friends! I feel like I live in a more expensive house than what it is actually worth because of how I have decorated and styled my home. These are tips I actually use in my own home and for clients.
