Mayer Kitchen

This kitchen was a complete makeover from floor to ceiling and needed a functional island. Working around the sink, dishwasher, and oven placement, we moved the fridge from one side of the room to the other and added power to the island prior to installing cabinets. We wanted to make these ceilings appear taller by adding crown molding and recessed lighting.

For the aesthtics of this kitchen, we decided on the warm cabinets to balance the bolder appliances. This kitchen has a modern and organic feel with touches of gold. This island holds 4 chairs with the option of adding 2 more on the end which makes it super functional for a family of five or hosting. The island and perimeter countertops do not match, they compliment one another and the perimeter countertop runs up the back wall instead of a traditional backsplash. This is great for gas cooktops, it is easily wipeable.

Pro tip: Handles on cabinets and drawers should not all be the same size, it is dependent on the size of the cabinet or drawer.
